LET US INTRODUCE YOU TO DULUX’S BRAVE GROUND, A WARM, NATURAL NEUTRAL THAT CONNECTS US BACK TO THE SIMPLE THINGS IN LIFE.

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Every year, the experts at Dulux, plus a team of top international design experts, come together to discuss the global trends and the mood of the moment, to formulate the perfect colour to represent the interior path of 2021.

What emerged from Dulux’s trend forecast this year was that after everything the world has been through in 2020, everyone is reassessing what really matters in their lives. As we’ve all had to spend so much time in our homes and gardens over the past few months, they have become our safe havens- a place where we come together as a family seeking warmth and comfort. We’ve all been forced to take a step back from our fast paced lives and in doing so, have reconnected with a slower pace of living and the natural world.

With this in mind, Dulux selected Brave Ground as their Colour of the Year for 2021- a natural neutral that connects us back to the simple things in life.

How can you incorporate Brave Ground into your upcoming kitchen renovation? Inspired by Dulux, we’ve curated a selection of our own complementary colour palettes to help you bring this beautiful warming shade into your Second Nature kitchen.

1. Pair with neutral tones and natural textures

Dulux chose Brave Ground to reflect an appreciation for the natural world around us, so what better way integrate this feeling in to your kitchen design than by pairing the shade with other natural tones and textures?

From the warming hue of Cashmere, to the deep, earthy shade of Lava, our Second Nature colour palette has a beautiful selection of natural tones to complement Brave Ground perfectly and create a welcoming kitchen aesthetic.

To introduce natural textures into your kitchen alongside Brave Ground, our made-to-measure Unity range is available in a choice of intricate woodgrain options and a selection of three brand-new striking concrete finishes.

2. Combine with a warm pink shade for individuality

Brave ground was chosen by Dulux as a versatile colour- one that would let other shades shine and encourage people to express their personalities with unique pairing.

As an equally warming shade, Dry Rose, our beautiful dusky pink, would be the perfect tone to combine with Brave Ground to create an individual yet delicate aesthetic.

To complement your look and bring a pop of metallic shine, style the colour pairing with bold brass accessories, as shown in Steve from @ten_sea_view’s Second Nature kitchen.

3. Introduce deep, earthy colours

As we have turned to nature to help us through this year, why not embrace the natural world within your kitchen, through earthy shades, such as our rich Copse Green or deep Hartforth Blue, to perfectly balance with the neutral tone of Brave Ground.

Style this look with added natural elements, such as wooden accessories (or with our Unity woodgrain finish doors) and greenery to emphasise the feeling of bringing the outdoors in.
