The Brief
With a large family, the clients’ small kitchen just wasn’t big enough for everyone to dine together. On Rota’s recommendation they agreed that a great solution would be to knock through the utility room, dining room and kitchen to become one open-plan space, which is now very much the hub of the home. Porter White was the perfect choice to create a lighter feel to the galley layout.
Designer's Tips
A galley kitchen does not have to be a long run of units. Even in a narrow space it is possible to include decorative features to break up the linear feel. In this kitchen the key appliances are located in a tall bank of units then on the opposite wall a back-lit metre wide curved glazed wall cabinet adds design interest and leads through to the dining area.
