The Brief
The clients were keen to completely revamp their kitchen which was a dark, 80’s style design. The brief was to brighten and lift the room and, in turn, create a homely and classic ambience and encourage the whole family to share the space. The Milbourne Alabaster cabinetry immediately ticks the classic and homely boxes, as well as lightening the room. Opening the chimney breast created space for the wood burner, which brings a focal point and warmth to the room.
Designer's Tips
Clever use of more subtle lighting brightens the area without the harsh illumination typical of central ceiling lights. There’s also over-wall unit lights and in-cabinet lighting to complete the scheme. Alabaster, whilst a neutral tone, has a degree of warmth which perfectly complements the choice of floor tile and contrasts with the stunning black granite worktop.
