The clients are a couple who are coming to retirement in a couple of years but who still work full time now and wanted to create a kitchen that could take them into their later years.
They wanted to add functionality to the space with Kessebohmer pullouts where possible and we designed a bespoke larder space utilising the new made-to-measure Mornington doors and some drawer fronts.
We created a movable pot board so the client could open the kitchen area up when needed if entertaining. The old kitchen was cramped and lacked any personality.
There was an old coal store in the room that we removed and this has created the area for the washer and dryer. The biggest obstacle here was the building works and demolition creating additional lead time for the works.
We always forward think when designing – its about how the client will live in the space once we’ve left. The kitchens have to function as well as look good.
