The clients felt their previous kitchen was really dated, and they wanted the new layout to have a fresher look and also more sociable focus. In terms of the style and colour scheme they were keen to introduce a contrasting colour palette that would add visual appeal but also be timeless. They love the mix of charcoal and partridge grey in the Milton Painted range as it achieves exactly the ambience they wanted to create. The kitchen is rich in storage and includes a great pull-out larder.
The designer recommended putting the induction hob into the centre, with the hood built in above, so the clients did not have their backs to the rest of the room. The client was initially concerned about the hob being on view, but as it’s induction it takes two minuets to wipe down and looks immaculate again with little effort. Overall the new design has made a huge difference to the family space with an island that now comfortably sits up to 5 people.
