The clients had carried out extensive renovations to their period property to create space for a new kitchen that would not only be sympathetic to the architecture of their home but would become a warm and welcoming hub for living. The Morris blue is the perfect colour choice for the period of their home and contrasts with the soft almond tone used on the island. The range cooker, with an oak over mantle, adds warmth and interest to the scheme. The blend of surfacing materials, including sandstone floor tiles and marbled almond quartz worktops enhances the scheme beautifully.
Housing the sink and dishwasher in the island frees up valuable worksurface space and usable cupboard throughout the rest of the kitchen. The central heating boiler was moved and is discreetly hidden in a dresser unit, freeing up the space to create the mantle on the adjacent wall.
