Lighting the way
Lighting is no longer just a kitchen accessory, it’s a necessity. Creating a tailored lighting plan in the early stages of your kitchen design, will not only make your space feel lighter and brighter, but it can add that all important wow-factor.
WHAT DO I NEED & WHERE?
In selecting the most appropriate lighting for the various tasks being carried out in your kitchen, a good place to start is considering these three key lighting environments – Task, Mood and Convenience.
Task lighting provides effective light to undertake everyday activities such as food preparation. Perfectly positioned, task lighting makes the kitchen an efficient working space.
Also referred to as feature, decorative or accent lighting, mood lighting is used to add dimension and depth to the room in order to create atmosphere and provide personality.
Convenience lighting has a more specific purpose. It is directional and intended to be focused towards a specific area or to be used for a particular job in drawers or in cabinets.
