The Brief

The clients were keen to introduce a more modern aesthetic to the space but with timeless appeal so the Shaker-style Broadoak Natural was a perfect choice. They replaced their range cooker with integrated ovens and flush-fitting induction hob and to create more space opted for a breakfast bar area instead of the previous dining table and chairs. This made the space less formal and with the TV unit the kitchen has become a main living room in the home. Lighting was essential as well as the room is quite dark. The continuous Sensio strip lights added a contemporary look and were used as up and down lights.

Designer's Tips

The shape of this kitchen could have restricted the design opportunities, but with careful attention to detail this double galley layout has some interesting features that create a bespoke feel. These include the gently curved base units and the dropped seating area under the window which includes extra storage.
