With three young children the clients needed a practical kitchen to accommodate their needs. The classic shaker Broadoak natural cabinetry suited perfectly. Curved units not only ensured all the edges were child friendly but added a flowing element to the design too. The clients wanted to create definition between the casual dining space and the kitchen, so using clever partitioning with shallow depth units the designer was able to create eating and cooking zones but with a sociable feel.
Modern appliances, stainless steel handles and a white quartz worktop injected a more contemporary edge to the classic shaker oak cabinetry. Different textures were introduced into the design such as the glass splashback behind the hob. Storage was key to this design so the cabinetry is packed with systems such as magic corners, pull out larders and towel rails.
