An island was top of the wish list for the clients' new kitchen, and the brief was for this to be the main feature of the design. Set in a barn conversion, natural timber is a key element of the architecture and this was to be echoed throughout the interior. A large window gives uninterrupted views over the countryside so the room benefits from natural light. Tomba handleless cabinetry sets a modern tone, but the look is far from minimal as the timber accents inject lots of warmth. Whilst this kitchen is high on visual appeal it is also high on functionality with a line up including Neff appliances including fridge, freezer, hob, downdraft and slide and hide ovens.
The space is enriched with the beautiful views so the designer was keen to maximise this and bring the outside in through the use of light, glossy doors and pale-toned flooring and worksurfaces. Industrial pendant lighting illuminates the oak dining area.
