The Brief

The client’s previous kitchen was out-dated, tired, and bland kitchen so the brief was to transform this into a modern design that was also child- friendly. Choosing Remo White, for its crisp contemporary lines, and bringing in hot pink as an accent colour not only makes the interior exciting for the client’s daughter to cook in but also injects the desired wow factor.  Looking to entertain, it was important to connect the kitchen and dining area ensuring it was more user sociable, extending the cabinetry to a breakfast bar area for additional seating. Clever storage solutions, such as larder pullouts and a magic corner were incorporated to maximize the space.

Designer's Tips

The designer recommended the use of colour to avoid the space from feeling sterile, the chosen hot pink really pops with the grey floor and white units. To make the space child friendly handleless doors were suggested as they are not as easy to open by little hands, along with the gloss finish ensuring it is easy to clean off any little finger prints. The new design has really fulfilled the client’s brief, with the new layout creating an effortless link between the kitchen and dining area.
