Modern design with a twist of retro funk were the key words of this brief. A young couple, who had been saving up for their dream extension for some time, didn’t want to compromise on any aspects of the project. Their concept was to turn their 1920’s style house, with it's tricky layout, into a large, modern, open-plan living space, whilst retaining some if its character. Through their meticulous planning and eye for detail they worked closely with the designer to create their very special space. The cabinetry colour mix, of matt dove grey and graphite, fits perfectly in the room.
The multifunctional island is a focal point of the design, with the blend of work surface materials adding interest. The sleek, minimal quartz with shark's nose edge detail creates a stunning contrast with the warmth of the walnut timber.
