The clients brief was for a highly contemporary state -of –the-art kitchen, uniting not only a mix of colours and textures to add a natural feel but for the overall ambience to have a sense of lightness and playfulness - a nod to his work as a musician. The designer incorporated exposed bricks, with hints of wood in the feature island and larder units to give the design a sense of depth and echoes of nature. The mix of Remo cashmere gloss and elm cabinetry complements the palette of materials and colours beautifully.
The designer recommended raising the units along the back wall off the ground and under these, and the island, LED strip lights create a floating effect, not only a visually exciting look but achieving the sense of lightness desired. A boiling water tap and clever hidden storage solutions elevate the kitchen into a space that was made for modern living.
