The project was in a new build and the clients wanted something different to their previous kitchen, which was traditional and a little fussy. They opted for a modern gloss kitchen and loved the designer’s suggestion of mixing colours, choosing Avant Ebony for the island and Porter Alabaster for the majority of the cabinetry. They liked the concept of showing a timber woodgrain with a contemporary twist. It was important that the kitchen was well organised, offering plenty of efficient storage. The island incorporates seating as well as ample prepping area.
To add a little character the designer recommended letterbox feature glazed doors along the wall cabinets, these are backlit for added effect. The kitchen opens up to a living and formal dining area so the scheme is light and airy to create a cohesive flow. A wood-burning stove adds a focal point and warmth to the room.
