The Brief

The clients, a retired couple, were keen to create a timeless look for their new kitchen but with a hint of drama.  Looking for something a little different to neutral tones they injected a splash of charcoal which creates interest as well as co-ordinating beautifully with the solid granite worktops.

Designer's Tips

An existing chimney breast in the room, which could have compromised design, actually became a great feature. By lighting up the area behind the hob and designing the curved base cabinets around the chimney adds impact and there are handy 150mm wide pullouts which are perfect for cooking near the hob.
