The brief

This new kitchen had to satisfy a number of requirements – make great use of the space (previously three small rooms knocked into one), incorporate a neutral and timeless colour palette, be the ‘cook’s kitchen’ yet at the same time the key room in the home where the family could spend time together.  The client was delighted with the result, the stone coloured cabinets and white quartz worksurfaces created just the right feel, a mix of modern styling with longevity.

Designer's tips

Maximise storage with pull-out larders hidden behind full height doors, it’s also a great way to balance the design around an American fridge freezer.  If there’s an alcove in a room there’s no reason why this space cannot be utilised, as in this kitchen with an inset bespoke dresser.  Make it a feature with back-lit glazed cabinets for displaying favourite glassware and crockery.
