The clients wanted to retain a similar layout to their previous kitchen but with an emphasis on much more usable surface space, accessible storage and eye-level cooking. Although their old kitchen had cream painted furniture, due to the patchwork wall tiles it felt quite dark. The new cabinetry is the simply-styled Milton in-frame range, painted in a soft light grey. Teamed with white worktops, white painted walls, and even painting the wooden door white, has instantly injected a fresh light feel to the space.
The new open-plan space was created by knocking through 2 rooms, achieving the sociable and spacious room the clients desired. There were a number of challenges to overcome as the walls were not straight, the steel rsj was in the way and the floor wasn’t level. The clients are delighted with how the project was managed and the finished result, a room where they love spending lots of time together.
