An extension was added to this family home to enable their kitchen to become the main focal room of the home and also create a more ergonomic work space. Key to the brief was increasing the amount of worksurface area whilst balancing the function with the form to ensure the design also had a very strong sociable feel. Their previous kitchen featured old-fashioned cathedral-arch doors so by opting for the Milton in-frame design, in a mix of porcelain and suede, the ambience is now light and airy, enhancing the sense of space.
The designer recommended a blend of worksurface materials, crisp white quartz on the island contrasting with the oak timber adding which adds instant warmth to the interior. Storage has been well considered and thoughtfully executed and includes a tandem larder, Le Mans corner solution and pull-out bins.
