This kitchen is set in a large extension and the clients were keen to create a family-orientated layout that better suited their lifestyle. Their previous galley kitchen had no room for seating or socialising so this was to be a key focus of the new design. Keen for the new kitchen in keeping with the rest of their property the clients wanted a classic look but designed for modern living. The brief was clear, to create a space with a dining table, plus casual and island seating but it was important that the layout had an effortless flow and not look like separate areas. Opting for the Milton in-frame range instantly gives a nod to tradition but choosing the more modern tones of suede and stone not only gives a layered affect to the design, but is an easy-to-live with colour palette.
The clients are delighted with their new kitchen, it is a flexible design that suits both formal and informal dining. The seating, against the wall for the table with tongue and grooved back panels, creates additional storage and also ties the kitchen and dining area together. The tall units in the kitchen are located on one side, with the hob surround on the opposite wall, this creates a balance in the room and allowed space for the dining area.
