The Brief

A new kitchen was an integral part of the clients’ conversion project, which added a first floor and large extension to their bungalow. The ground floor is openplan so the new kitchen links beautifully through to the dining and living spaces.  A mix of granite and oak timber worktops adds a natural feel to the layout, with the black range cooker and fridge freezer complementing the granite.   The look is elegant but with an easy-to-live with feel.

Designer's Tips

In an openplan scheme it’s important to have a seamless flow from one area to another. This design achieves this, keeping the colour palette primarily light and fresh through the cabinetry and flooring, with a freestanding dresser creating a subtle link from the kitchen to the dining area.  The textured cream wicker chairs and settees enhance the overall airy feel, with accent soft furnishings and accessories such as the striped cushions and red crockery adding a dash of colour.
