The Brief

The clients, a professional couple, wanted to create a space they could relax in. They added an orangery to their existing kitchen and completely refurbished the enhanced space that would function as a kitchen living area. They chose the Milton range in oak, alabaster and charcoal to give the room a stylish, warm atmosphere. The in-frame design created the feel of bespoke furniture that seamlessly combined with their freestanding furniture in the lounge area. The room was finished with curved units by two of the entry doorways to enhance the flow around the room.

Designer's Tips

It was important to the clients that the island was the focal point of the room, without being overbearing. The designers achieved exactly the look they wanted by creating a L-Shaped island with a bookcase at one end. The bookcase not only connected the functioning kitchen to the lounge but also complemented the furniture style of island unit.
