An openplan kitchen for family life and entertaining were the key requirements of this brief. The essentials included a central island for the family to gather around plus space for a dining table and chairs for more formal meals. With classic design tastes the clients opted for the Milton Oak in-frame cabinetry but to avoid it being too traditional the kitchen features modern touches such as stainless steel handles, gently contoured cabinets and a light stone floor.
Don’t be afraid to mix different materials and shapes in your kitchen. This design shows how beautifully natural granite and timber blend together. The granite not only contrasts with the light oak cabinetry but the splashback area behind the range has a curved feature to create a focal point. The cream leather-backed stools coordinate with the lighter toned floor and wall to create a scheme that is fresh yet timeless.
