The Brief

The kitchen was transformed by completely redesigning the original room to create a light, open living-kitchen space.  The colour scheme is a beautiful mix of Milton painted and charcoal, which is used to great effect on both the furniture and the contrasting worktops.  The social element of the kitchen was very important to the client, with the window area being put to clever use with comfortable seating as well as the farmhouse table and chairs to gather around.

Designer's Tips

Classic kitchens have a timeless quality so by carefully choosing the colour scheme the look will never date.  To give a fresh modern edge to the scheme, opt for curved cabinetry and a mix of contrasting granite and quartz worksurfaces as shown in this design.
