The Brief

The brief was to update an old-fashioned kitchen and incorporate some modern features whilst retaining a timeless aesthetic. Integral to the new design was a large area for a dining table and chairs as the new kitchen was very much about a space for living.   The clients chose the painted Milbourne Sage as it is fresh and easy to live with.

Designer's Tips

The clients wanted a feeling of light so, as the room was quite narrow, the light coloured cabinets and flooring keep the space airy and open. Curved doors help to soften the ends of the units and create a natural flow through to the open dining area. Extra storage was created with the inclusion of a pull-out larder which is easy to access.
