The Brief

After recently moving into their new family home, our clients’ first job was to replace the previous owners cramped L shaped dated kitchen.

The aim of this kitchen design was to increase storage space and worktop surface areas. Our client was also keen to use the whole room for the kitchen so that space could be created for their family and friends to casually gather.

Our clients wanted to achieve a traditional look but with a contemporary twist, so the Milbourne shaker cabinetry in contemporary partridge grey and charcoal made the perfect choice.

Designer's Tips

Our client wanted the kitchen to be driven by functionality, so plenty of our fantastic storage solutions from Kesseböhmer were incorporated into the design, including a pull-out larder, pull-out base larder, integrated waste bin, large pan drawers and a magic corner.
So that space could be utilised for family and friends to gather, a central island was installed which flowed into a circular timber table top for occasional seating.
The oak table top added warmth to the grey palette in the room, whilst pendant lighting fitted over the table top created perfect mood lighting during the evening.
To create the traditional look, chrome door knobs and cup handles were used along with brick effect tiles.
