The Brief

This is a new-build family home and the clients had their hearts set on an oak kitchen as they really love the warmth of natural timber.  They had decided on eye-level cooking, smart storage solutions and an island to seat four.  Silestone Tigris Sand quartz worktops were also on their which list, which deliver a fresh feel when teamed with the Milbourne Oak furniture. /span>

Designer's Tips

After considering several sketches, instead of a worktop-height small window that was in the architectural plans, the designer suggested putting two full-length windows in the end gable wall. This gable was south facing so would enhance the natural light and would make the kitchen feel more bespoke in appearance.  The clients loved the idea.  Pull-out larders were recommended for easy access for dry food storage.
