The kitchen was part of a BBC DIY SOS program, where the owners had started to build an extension to meet the needs of their family but then faced with redundancy and a family problem, the project came to a halt. The DIY SOS designer created a moodboard and worked with The Little Kitchen Factory of Worksop on the design and layout. The Little Kitchen Factory, supported by Second Nature, designed, donated and fitted a Milbourne kitchen with rubberwood worktops.
By knocking through from the dining room the clients have the luxury of so much more space and the designer was able to create a light, airy and very family-orientated room for the family. By keeping wall cabinets to a minimum the sense of space was further enhanced. The budget for a similar kitchen would be £12-16k.
