The Brief

The clients wanted to create a timeless ambience in their new kitchen but ,designed for modern living with plenty of storage and preparation space.  The Langham Shaker range, painted in alabaster, was exactly what they had in mind and they teamed this with beautiful granite worktops to create a stunningly classic scheme. span>They proposed a breakfast bar, with a concave design at the back, this accommodates a table for seating which fits neatly into the concave. The table is in walnut so, together with the modern stove, adds warmth to the interior and imbues an elegant contrast to the alabaster cabinetry.

Designer's Tips

Initially the clients were keen to incorporate an island in the design.  A wall had been removed between the original kitchen and dining room to open up the space and bring more light in. However, the designer recommended that an island would cramp the room as it wasn’t really wide enough to allow space to move around it freely.  They proposed a breakfast bar, with a concave design at the back, this accommodates a table for seating which fits neatly into the concave. The table is in walnut so, together with the modern stove, adds warmth to the interior and imbues an elegant contrast to the alabaster cabinetry.
