The brief

A new extension to the home was the opportunity to create an openplan living area for the client. The design has a sociable ambience with its multifunctional island as well as dining table to gather around. The dark wenge-toned Izari cabinets are highlighted with the cream bar stools and Luna quartz worksurfaces.

Designer's tips

When working with new building projects don’t overlook the practical issues such as services, it’s always beneficial to plan ahead to avoid any costly reworks after the project is underway. If there’s a structural element that can’t be moved make it a feature of the design, as with the central supporting column in this kitchen.
