Croft Washed
Real Kitchen of the Month
February 2012
- Designed and installed by:
- Milligan & Jessop, Huddersfield
The brief
The clients’ property was converted from an old milking shed so with many authentic features such as the original beams running through the house, the design had to complement the rustic look. Croft Washed matched them almost perfectly. The addition of a false mantle, double Belfast, wicker baskets and range cooker added to the country-inspired feel. Soft white plinth and under-cabinet lights subtly highlight the room features during the day and more so when it gets darker during the evening.

Designer's tips
In this design Croft Washed married perfectly with the original timber, but if a close match cannot be found to an original feature such as beams, it’s often better to consider something completely different. The use of Kashmir gold granite complements the units beautifully while lifting the room, creating a lighter feel for what once was a dark space.
