The Brief

The kitchen is in a new build property for the clients to retire to. On their first visit to the showroom the clients set their hearts on the Cornell design and on a practical level they wanted the layout to be very organised incorporating plenty of storage solutions.  The couple wanted different finishes, one timber, one painted and were both delighted the suggestion of combining the two. The mix of oak and alabaster cabinetry creates a relaxed yet elegant aesthetic.

Designer's Tips

The clients wanted a lower-level table for casual dining so this became an integral feature of the island, fitting neatly into the concave end of the island with the added benefit of being portable. The designer proposed a small sink in the island to save crossover to the main sink area and the clients find this really useful for food preparation.
