The brief
Having recently become grandparents the owners wanted to open up their kitchen into the breakfast area to a more open, family-friendly space. Their previous kitchen had dark units so they were keen to have an altogether more airy feel to the new scheme, a classic alabaster painted kitchen but with modern appeal. The beautifully contoured cabinets give the design the contemporary twist with the granite worktops creating a stunning contrast with the Cornell Classic furniture.

Designer's tips
Even in a relatively narrow space it’s possible to introduce shape. In this design adding curves to both the base and wall units creates a flow through to the breakfast room. Another feature for a galley style kitchen is a break-fronted area under the hob with wide drawer packs, this not only adds a modern feel to the design but provides generous storage too.
