Initially the clients were set on a painted ivory kitchen with an oak dresser. However the designer suggested to mix & match the kitchen area with oak and ivory and they loved this idea. Cornell ivory and oak were chosen for the cabinetry, with the oak featuring around the fridge/freezer and island. Although the room is quite narrow, the clients really wanted an island, and with careful consideration an island was designed to fit the room space.
Storage was really important so there are plenty of hidden pull-outs in the working kitchen area. Instead of a dresser, the designer came up with the great idea of making a feature of the low window sills. The beautiful window seats are not only a lovely place to sit, relax and enjoy the view outside but also double up practically with useful storage below. The display area is highlighted with solid oak workotps.
