The Brief

The clients, a retired couple, were keen to update their 20 year old kitchen with a fresh, new look whilst retaining a country feel without it being ‘twee’. The painted Broadoak Almond range was the perfect choice as it has a simple style and the contrasting walnut timber worktops lend a natural feel to the design.  Improved storage was high on the wish list and tall wall units maximise cupboard space but are broken up with open shelving for the music system and cookery books.

Designer's Tips

To improve accessiblity the oven, hob and fridge were moved to the opposite side of the kitchen so built-in models, at a more ergonomic height, could be used. The existing table and stool were given a painted finish to tie in with the new colour scheme and the final finishing touch was the choice of stainless steel and walnut knobs to co-ordinate with the worktops.
