The Brief

The clients, a retired couple, wanted to give their new kitchen a fresh look with a touch of drama, so they opted for a sophisticated mix of charcoal and partridge grey painted Broadoak cabinetry that is strong on colour and perspective. The kitchen is set in a new extension so having the luxury of a larger space the clients could indulge in their wish for a multi-functional island.

Designer's Tips

The palette of materials and colours is not only timeless but elegant, with the smooth Corian worksurfaces blending beautifully in the scheme.  A dresser pantry answers the clients’ needs for a focal storage area to hide away the toaster and mixer but still with easy access.  The open shelving creates a lovely area for display.
