The brief
In this Victorian family home three areas have been made into one large openplan space to provide a much-awaited family friendly cooking, dining and socialising space. The Broadoak Natural range was selected for its classic clean shaker design with modern touches such as the leather effect handle, modern stainless steel appliances with an induction hob linked with a gas domino hob, which is beautifully complemented by the sparkling star galaxy granite worksurfaces and upstands.

Designer's tips
The internal walls stepped in and out around former fireplaces and chimneys from adjoining rooms and special attention was made to provide varying cabinetry depth to minimise the effect of this and maintain a clean line to the layout. Taller cabinets were grouped together for plenty of dedicated larder storage space and to create a surround around the American fridge freezer. The overall design is carefully zoned so storage, washing, preparation, cooking and serving areas are in their optimal positions.
