The Brief

The brief was focused on creating a multi-functional and inviting open-plan kitchen that was designed for modern living but with a timeless aesthetic.  The clients were drawn towards the Broadoak Shaker range, loving its simple styling and the option to mix natural oak and painted finishes. The oak and almond combination is elegant and leads perfectly through to the dining and living areas.  The finished design is perfect for everyday living but also for when friends and family gather.

Designer's Tips

The island features an informal dining area, this is surfaced in prime oak, which is not only warmer to perch against but complements the oak cabinetry and contrasts beautifully with the burled beech Corian worktops. Additional seating in the area is included in the handy window seat. LED lights are used to great effect around the plinths and also recessed into pillars at the pantry, oven housing and island.
