Kitchen of the month
May 2012
Milton Ivory & Walnut
The client wanted a warm and welcoming kitchen that was perfect for family gatherings. The wall between the original kitchen and dining room was knocked through to create one large room. A mix of ivory and walnut cabinetry is echoed with the combination of cream quartz and walnut worktops and timber backed stools.

Avant Beige
The brief from the client was to create a modern design but one that enhanced the sense of space in this relatively small kitchen. Avant Beige was chosen over white or alabaster as it’s a softer, more natural tone but is still light enough to keep the room airy. The mix of red and beige plus the high diner-style bistro table and stool adds a retro feel to the design as well as a practical and useful place to sit.

Integrato White
Boasting a stunning setting, this kitchen has the luxury of bringing the outside in through the light-filled pitched roof in the dining space. The handleless profile of Integrato creates a sleek aesthetic with the grey toned worksurfaces and flooring adding a sophisticated feel. As a family kitchen the design had to be highly functional whilst being equally suited to an entertaining area for friends.

Broadoak Painted
The client, an interior designer and keen cook, had a clear idea of the look she wanted to achieve. The overriding theme was one of simplicity and nature, so the Broadoak cabinetry set the scene with the earthy painted tones of Farrow and Ball Elephant’s Breath and Charlestone Grey adding to the natural feel of this design.

Broadoak Painted
The kitchen is a long galley arrangement so it was important to create a sense of light in the room to avoid it feeling like a corridor. The Broadoak door suited the clients’ taste for a classic style and the painted stone neutral tone coupled with the Silestone worktops will have enduring appeal. The room benefits from lots of natural light and this is enhanced with the task lighting fitted to the underside of the wall cabinets.

Milbourne Alabaster
Previously the space was separate kitchen and dining rooms which were combined to create a beautiful kitchen with seating for four. The new Milbourne Alabaster range looks perfectly at home and has the look of a bespoke, hand-painted kitchen. The alabaster contrasts with the lovely mix of solid oak and black granite worktops and the ubiquitous Belfast sink completes the unmistakable classic style.

Avant White
The previous kitchen was small and dark with little storage or useable worktop space. So the adjoining dining and utility rooms were claimed by removing two walls, to create a large, sociable kitchen. A new utility room was fitted in the garage and the dining table moved into the conservatory. Large expanses of worksurface provide ample preparation areas and a small seating area was integrated in the penninsula unit to make the kitchen a real family room.

Avant Alabaster
The original kitchen was a dated 60’s design and the clients were keen to inject a contemporary feel into this important room. The project involved knocking through to the utility area to enlarge the space to create a breakfast bar area for informal dining. Avant Alabaster is light and fresh so achieves the modern look and makes the kitchen feel spacious yet with a very functional and ergonomic design.

Cornell Classic and Oak
The clients were looking for a classic kitchen but with all the modern appliances to suit their lifestyle. These included side-by-side fridge-freezers, steam, single and combi ovens as well as a warming drawer, coffee machine and induction hob. This really is a cook’s kitchen but is also a key living space of the home so the ambience had to have a welcoming, homely feel.

Centris
This modern design in linear oak slab cabinetry with cool white and warm red accents answered the clients’ brief for a bright, contemporary working environment where they would enjoy being in the space, whatever the task. The layout is ergonomic with enough worksurface to allow more than one person to be preparing the meal at once.
